Abies concolor ( White Fir )

A very tall, stately, symmetrical tree with uniformly spaced branch whorls. This is one of the important big 5 timber trees of the West Coast, along with the Ponderosa Pine, Sugar Pine, Incense Cedar and Douglas Fir. It's blue-green needles make a popular Christmas Tree.

Abies grandis 'Sears Creek'
( Grand Fir, Lowland Fir )

Native from British Columbia inland to Montana, southward to Northern California and mainly grows near the ocean. The White Fir, one of the largest firs, can reach 300 ft. in the woods. Home and office landscapes can expect a height of around 80-200 ft. They have beautiful, deep green needles which are glossy above and have white lines beneath.

Calacedrus decurrens ( Incense Cedar )

Mostly native to the California foothills and mountains of the Sierra Nevada and into southern Oregon, but can survive in warm areas. Incense Cedars, also known as Red Cedars, grow to 90 ft. and have a reddish brown trunk. They give off a strong fragrance in warm weather. Also widely seen in the Yosemite National Park.

Cedrus deodara ( Deodar, Himalayan Cedar )

Native to the Himalaya Mountains. This now U.S. staple evergreen, is a fast grower, growing to 80 ft, with a 40ft spread at the ground level. This tree, along with the 'atlantica' and 'libani,' is a true cedar. Lower branches sweep downward and then upward. The nodding tip is an identifier at the top. Deodar Cedars make a beautiful, graceful landscape tree.
